‘We are Millennials, Mobilised’ Master of Architecture student projects in ArtsBuzz corner, Level 4, NUS Central Library

For those of you who missed our exhibition at the National Library of Singapore in December 2019, fear not! The Master of Architecture student projects arising from the ‘We are Millennials, Mobilised’ studio last semester are available for viewing in the Central Library ArtsBuzz corner from now until 14 February 2020.

This exhibition foregrounds the new subjectivities arising from the merging of technologies that have blurred the physical and virtual divide. Through embracing the mindset of technologically-adept and multi-mobile millennials, the studio’s outputs and thesis enquiries featured here explore the ways in which the current generation optimise digital affordance, social media connections and online resources to redraw a new everyday experience. At a time when hybrid reality is becoming the norm, where the virtual and digital is increasingly overlapping with the real, the incorporation of new research tools and interpretive media becomes essential to convey a multi-faceted, and nuanced, reading of this emerging condition. The resultant cross-technology spatial explorations critique how our simultaneous corporal and digital presences have transformed our lifestyle, work style and relationship with one another.
