Synopsis
Current trends have reduced our understanding of the architectural exterior to one involving how we want buildings to look rather than the way we understand how they can perform – this lecture is an attempt to clarify the seemingly complex distinctions in a way that will open the field to greater critical discourse. This will take place through discussion of the greatest architectural competition in the history of the profession.
