Dr Filip Biljecki awarded NUS Presidential Young Professorship

Congratulations to Dr Filip Biljecki for being awarded the prestigious NUS Presidential Young Professorship (PYP). The PYP is conferred on exceptional early-career faculty with an excellent research track record.

Dr Biljecki holds a PhD degree from the Delft University of Technology. His research activities are in the domain of geographical information science (GIS), with a focus on 3D city models and digital twins. The goal of his research is enhancing the availability, interoperability, quality, and application of three-dimensional geoinformation.

At the NUS School of Design and Environment, Dr Biljecki has established the Urban Analytics Lab, a multidisciplinary research group on urban informatics, geographic data science, and 3D urban modelling.

Dr Biljecki’s research has been featured in leading international scientific journals. He is involved in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Future Council on Cities and Urbanization as Fellow, and in the journal PLOS ONE as Academic Editor. He is also taking part in the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), and the journal Open Geospatial Data, Standards and Software (OGDSS).
