Her lab works at the intersection of multimodal medical AI, surgical data science and robotics; integrating medical imaging, surgical video and clinical data to support clinical diagnosis and treatment. By developing AI models that can perform diverse medical tasks and adapt efficiently to new healthcare settings, her research aims to accelerate the translation of AI innovations into real-world clinical practice. Dr Jin has secured major competitive research funding and established collaborations with clinicians and industry partners such as NVIDIA.

A major direction of Dr Jin’s research is the development of large medical foundation models and agentic AI. Her lab is creating intelligent systems that move beyond conventional black-box predictions by generating clinically meaningful outputs through transparent, evidence-based reasoning. In surgical data science, her lab develops AI methods that can understand clinical workflows and anticipate critical events. These capabilities can provide clinicians with educational assistance and intraoperative decision support, while advancing the next generation of autonomous surgical robotics.

The prestigious NUS Presidential Young Professorship scheme is an early-career track for exceptional young academics with great potential to excel. This recognition reflects Dr Jin’s strong research trajectory, growing international influence, and potential to become a world-class scholar advancing clinically meaningful AI.

Congratulations to Dr Yueming Jin on this distinguished recognition!

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-16157"
