The GourmetGrip is a reconfigurable hybrid robotic gripper system that is capable of handling food delicately like a human hand; currently it can pick and place over 50 different types of food items of various shapes, sizes and stiffness, for automated assembly of various meal types, including inflight meals, bento sets, and hospital meals.
