NUS Engineering has over 110 partner universities in 32 countries, including premier institutions, such as the University of California, Imperial College London, University of Tokyo and Tsinghua University. Furthermore, we are the only engineering school in the world to have exchanges with both Cambridge and Oxford universities.<\/p>\n<p>The Student Exchange Programme (SEP) typically takes place in Year 3, though application and selection occur a year in advance. As part of the process, you are required to design your own study plan by mapping courses from your intended exchange university to equivalent courses in your BEng (Biomedical Engineering) curriculum. It is important to note that grades obtained during SEP do not count towards your GPA. Additionally, credits earned are transferred on a Satisfactory\/Unsatisfactory basis, with a maximum credit limit of 24 units.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/gro\/summer-winter.php\">International Summer (&amp; Winter) Programmes (i-SP)<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Coinciding with the NUS vacations, these shorter overseas programmes still immerse you in a foreign environment while you earn credits without affecting your regular academic schedule. Just as with SEP, you would need to prepare a study plan by mapping relevant courses.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.nus.edu.sg\/educate\/nus-overseas-colleges\">NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC)<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>NOC is a\u00a0<strong>global internship\u00a0<\/strong>and learning experience unique to NUS: you are thrown into the frenzy of a\u00a0<strong>technology start-up<\/strong> at one of the hottest entrepreneurial hubs around the world, while juggling <strong>courses at a top university<\/strong>\u00a0located nearby. Competition for this life-changing opportunity is keen, but if you are an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/escholars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">E-Scholar<\/a>, you are guaranteed a 6-month stint at one of the 11 NOCs. The entrepreneurship education of NOC is also recommended if you are pursing the second major in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/idp\/\">Innovation and Design (iDP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Other Global Experiences<\/h3>\n<p>A number of other overseas opportunities, such as\u00a0<strong>research attachments and short study trips<\/strong>\u00a0are available from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nus.edu.sg\/gro\/\">NUS Global Relations Office<\/a>.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nus.edu.sg\/cfg\/students\/internships\"><strong>Global internships<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are sometimes offered through the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nus.edu.sg\/cfg\/\">Centre for Future-Ready Graduates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Financing Your Overseas Learning<\/h3>\n<p>NUS offers\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/esp\/undergraduate\/scholarship-financial-aid\/\">bursaries, awards and loans<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0to help defray part of the costs of studying abroad.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Degree Programmes What is BME?
