The event was supported by the Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). The event was held at Shaw Foundation Alumni House, NUS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The theme was \u201c<strong>Smart Analytics for Maritime and Logistics Systems<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The goal was to provide a forum for participants from world universities and industry to exchange ideas on the latest trends, research developments, and practical applications in maritime systems and urban logistics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">We have the honour of Dr Sanjay Kuttan, Executive Director, SMI to deliver our opening speech.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Mr. Kenneth Lim, Chief Technology Officer, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, who delivered a keynote on &#8220;Maritime Singapore&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-351\" src=\" \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2019\/03\/IMG_2616.jpg\" alt=\"Img 2616\" width=\"719\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-352\" src=\" \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2019\/03\/IMG_2637.jpg\" alt=\"Img 2637\" width=\"718\" height=\"478\" \/><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Keynote speakers Prof. Rommert Dekker, The Erasmus School of Economics, addressed on &#8220;Digitization and automation in the port: developments and experiences from the Port of Rotterdam&#8221; and Prof. Chealsea White, Georgia Tech, spoke on \u201cCurrent Developments in Logistics and Digitalization\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-353\" src=\" \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2019\/03\/IMG_2630.jpg\" alt=\"Img 2630\" width=\"707\" height=\"471\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-355\" src=\" \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2019\/03\/IMG_2820.jpg\" alt=\"Img 2820\" width=\"707\" height=\"471\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Assoc Prof. Lee Loo Hay, addressing the audience on the future of logistics and supply chain systems.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-354\" src=\" \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2019\/03\/IMG_2715.jpg\" alt=\"Img 2715\" width=\"707\" height=\"471\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Two lively panel discussions on \u201cFuture trends in Maritime and Logistics Systems\u201d and \u201cSteering towards Industry 4.0\u201d that actively engaged the participants and\u00a0brought new insights to the community.<\/p>\n<div class=\"single-post-content-text content-pad\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-356\" src=\"\/c4ngl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2019\/03\/IMG_2778.jpg\" alt=\"Img 2778\" width=\"698\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-359\" src=\" \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2019\/03\/IMG_2905.jpg\" alt=\"Img 2905\" width=\"702\" height=\"468\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-358\" src=\" \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2019\/03\/IMG_2939.jpg\" alt=\"Img 2939\" width=\"699\" height=\"466\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">A highlight of LOGMS2019 were the best paper competition, which saw the parallel session of quality paper presentations from students and regular submissions\u00a0all over the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">There were plenty of opportunities for networking among colleagues, academic participants and industrial partners. A tour was organised to view the upcoming mega port in Singapore and a fun-filled Gala dinner was held at the Raffles Marina for all our participants and supporters.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-369\" src=\" \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/18\/2019\/03\/IMG_3443.jpg\" alt=\"Img 3443\" width=\"695\" height=\"463\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">LOGMS-Singapore 2019 had brought the LOGMS conference to a new level and now the baton is handed over to Imperial College, London for the 10th LOGMS conference.
