Civil Engineering ,Year 4 student, Loh Ren De Daniel was awarded first place in ISSMGE TC304/TC309 Student Contest held in conjunction with 7th Asian-Pacific Symposium on Structural Reliability and Its Applications

Our heartiest congratulations to Civil Engineering, Year 4 student, Loh Ren De Daniel. He was awarded first place in ISSMGE TC304/TC309 Student Contest held in conjunction with 7th Asian-Pacific Symposium on Structural Reliability and Its Applications (APSSRA2020) for his presentation titled “Bayesian Prediction of Consolidation Settlement using Autoencoder Neural Network and Surrogate Model”. Daniel was supervised by Dr Ku Taeseo and research fellow, Dr Lo Man Kong Horace.

Engineering Practice of Risk Assessment and Management (TC304) regularly holds the TC304 Student Contest on Data Analytics to encourage students to learn statistical and probabilistic methods and implement them in geotechnical data. A contest question is given to all student participants. One TC304 Student Award and several encouragement awards will be given based on how the participants address the contest question and present their works in the conferences.
