14th Easts Conference Cee Transport Group

CEE Transport Group won Best Paper Award in Institutional Innovation & Best Paper Award in Methodological Development in 14th EASTS Conference

Our heartiest congratulations to our CEE transport group for winning the following best paper awards in the 14th Eastern Asia Society of Transportation Studies (EASTS) Conference held in Hiroshima, Japan (virtual event) from 12-14 September 2021:

  • Best Paper Award in Institutional Innovation for the paper entitled “An Empirical Study of Taxi Crashes in Singapore” by Dr Kang Liujiang and Prof Meng Qiang. Dr Kang is formerly a research fellow in CEE (under the supervision of Prof Meng) and is currently an associate professor in Beijing Jiaotong University.
  • Best Paper Award in Methodological Development for the paper entitled “Skid Resistance Evaluation of Pervious Pavement Mixtures using XRCT-based Modelling” by Dr Ajayshankar Jagadeesh and A/Prof Raymond Ong. Dr Jagadeesh is our former PhD student (under the supervision of A/Prof Ong) and is currently a research fellow in NUS Environmental Research Institute.

EASTS (Eastern Asia Society for Transportation Studies) was founded in November 1994, and today consists of member domestic societies from 19 countries/regions in Asia and Australasia. The society currently has over 1,300 members across the 19 countries/regions (mostly academics and researchers). In this year’s edition of the conference, a total of 529 papers were submitted for the conference, and 11 best paper awards were awarded (by categories) in this conference (constituting to approximately 2% of the papers).
