Assistant Professor Dr. Chew Soon Hoe (PI), Dr. Koh Juan Wei (Research Fellow) and Mr. Aw You Jin Eugene (Research Engineer), Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, together with Housing & Development Board (HDB) colleagues, have received the \u201cIES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2021\u201d; for the project titled “Rapid Classification of Soil using Artificial Intelligence”. They were awarded during the IES WES dinner on 11 Nov 2021.<\/p>\n

The award is based on engineering achievements demonstrating outstanding engineering skills that have contributed significantly to the engineering progress and the quality of life in Singapore. The method is not only able to improve the productivity of operations, but also allow for more sustainable use of soils in a land-scarce Singapore.<\/p>\n
