Centre for Water Research (CWR) is pleased to host lab visit for NUS community and alumni. CWR lab visit started with welcome and opening remark from Prof Hu Jiangyong. Prof Hu introduced CWR\u2019s latest research innovations and activities to the visitors.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-16393\" src=\"http:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2023\/04\/image-3-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"416\" height=\"313\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Professor Hu Jiangyong delivers welcome speech<\/p>\n<p>Deng Jinghui presented a Floating Gas Diffusion Electrode. In contrast to conventional electrodes, this novel electrode configuration is able to electro-generate H2O2 passively using O2 from the air without the need of forced aeration. These electrodes can be utilized for electro-disinfection and the mineralization of recalcitrant organic compounds.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-16396\" src=\"http:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2023\/04\/image-4-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"442\" height=\"316\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Deng Jinghui, PhD student, presents her works on floating gas diffusion electrode<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Dr Liu Xiaochen presented his novel UV-LED water disinfection device. With the multi-wavelength configuration, this device can deliver 50% higher disinfection effectiveness and reduce the bacterial re-growth by 83%.
