Yongnam Medal and Prize <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Yongnam Medal and Prize is awarded to a graduating or recently graduated student with a PhD in Civil Engineering for his\/her excellent PhD research in the field of civil engineering and whose research has the potential to yield impact to national development, economy and\/or the society.<\/p>\n

Dr Anjaneya Dixit<\/strong> worked extensively with remarkable tenacity and passion on locally generated wastes materials like excavated marine clays and wood waste and has invented innovative approaches to valorize them as construction materials. \u00a0His work on \u201cSustainable Construction Materials\u201d reflects the vision of NUS towards conducting quality and high translational impact research, providing practical solutions to Singapore\u2019s critical challenges of waste disposal and curtailing sand import. The impact and importance of his work have been featured in NUS Research News<\/a>, Channel News Asia<\/a> news articles and prime time news (Channel News Asia-Video<\/a>) and has attracted substantial attention from the industry sector, such as Samwoh Co. Pvt. Ltd., JTC, Pan United and A-Star, to collaborate with NUS-CEE and produce sustainable and eco-friendly concrete.<\/p>\n

At the international academic level, Dr Dixit has published 7 first-authored high impact factor journal papers from his PhD research (excluding 2 journal papers in the follow-up work during his short post-doc stint at NUS), 3 book chapter for Springers and has presented in 3 international conferences. He mentored 5 final year projects during his PhD study. He has also won the SILVER PRIZE <\/strong>in the Concrete Competition organized by ACI (Singapore Chapter) in 2021, which was based on his findings on marine clay as a construction material.<\/p>\n

Currently, Dr. Dixit is working as an Assistant Professor at IIT Roorkee, one of top 5 engineering colleges in India, and the oldest technical institute in Asia. He led the team as a co-PI in a national level competition and won a grant of Rs. 15.3 million (Approx. S$ 248,000). As a PI, he has won the ACT4 2022 call from the The Research Council of Norway<\/em> in multinational consortium of universities in India and United States.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
