Dr Tong has demonstrated exceptional promise in research that is impactful to national development and society, as his modelling works have been successfully applied in local reservoirs and coastal waters, contributing to water quality improvement.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Tong has demonstrated outstanding academic performance. He published 6 journal papers in reputable journals, 1 book chapter in Oceans &amp; Health, and filed 1 patent from his PhD research work. He was actively involved in organizing SIWW conference as session co-chair and poster judge in 2024. He was awarded the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad in 2023. He also won First Prize in the 1st CHINA-ASEAN Dam Safety Science Popularization Contest in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Tong is currently a research fellow under NUS NERI. He is co-founder of a NUS spin-off company (Aquashield Solutions) from NUS Enterprise.
