NUS Environmental Engineering PhD students Xu Dong, Li Rui, Lu Lu and Goh Jun Wei, under the supervision of Professor Hu Jiangyong, Professor Ng How Yong and Professor Ong Say Leong, became the first and only team outside North America to win at the Water Environmental Federation (WEF) Student Design Competition held in New Orleans, USA. The team placed fourth in the Water Environment Competition for their integrated design in producing ultrapure water with zero-liquid discharge from electronic product effluent.
