{"id":8750,"date":"2021-04-28T09:57:58","date_gmt":"2021-04-28T01:57:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/cee\/?post_type=nus-news&#038;p=8750"},"modified":"2022-12-20T10:29:12","modified_gmt":"2022-12-20T02:29:12","slug":"computer-modelling-system-for-costal-defense","status":"publish","type":"nus-news","link":"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/cee\/news\/computer-modelling-system-for-costal-defense\/","title":{"rendered":"Computer modelling system for costal defense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To better assess the impact of climate change on Singapore\u2019s coastal areas, a consortium led by NUS has been appointed by National Water Agency PUB to develop a model capable of evaluating both inland and coastal flood risks in tandem.<\/p>\n<p>Together with water management solutions provider Hydroinformatics Institute (H2i), the NUS researchers led by <a href=\"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/cee\/staff\/philip-li-fan-liu\/\">Professor Philip Liu, Distinguished Professor<\/a> from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/cee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NUS Civil and Environmental Engineering<\/a>,\u00a0will work on a state-of-the-art Coastal-Inland Flood Model based on the nation\u2019s densely built-up and urbanised environment.
