The Story<\/h3>\n

The Build Environment Case Competition was first idealised by a group of NUS Civil Engineering students in 2019. With the help of NUS and BCA, we held the first BECC in 2020 with the goal of having students explore beyond the textbook and delve into challenges faced by our Built Environment.<\/p>\n

BECC is going for a 4th run this year!<\/p>\n

We are calling aspiring BE leaders from all locally based IHLs to form teams and join BECC 2023. Delve deep into the diverse aspects of the Built Environment, formulate innovative solutions, and pitch to our distinguished panel of judges! BECC 2023 is working closely with our sponsor JTC and Arup Group, alongside our supporter BCA, to create an engaging platform for students to appreciate the multi-disciplinary working ecosystem, and leave their mark in our Built Environment.<\/p>\n

Competition Structure<\/h3>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Registrations are Open!<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Registrations have begun since 5 May and will end on 1 June. Form your teams of 2 to 4 students from our approved list of IHLs, and head over here<\/a> to register your team!<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Round 1 (11 -25 June)<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Round 1 Requirements (Problem Statement, Rubrics, Submission requirements) will be released on 11 June for your team to work on. Don’t forget to submit your proposals for grading by 25 June!<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Round 2 (16 – 28 July)<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Top-8 teams will then move on to Round 2 and meet their mentors. Teams will take this time to meet their mentors and refine their solution and prepare for the final presentation which will be held on the Competition Day.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Competition Day (29 July)<\/u><\/strong><\/h4>\n

This year, BECC 2023 Competition Day will be held live in NUS!! We will be hosting the competition in NUS , where the top teams will be presenting their exciting ideas to a distinguished panel of judges from the industry.<\/p>\n

BECC is open to all undergraduate students in local Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs)*:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Local Universities<\/strong><\/td>\nNUS, NTU, SMU, SIT, SUSS, SUTD<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Local Polytechnics<\/strong><\/td>\nNYP, NP, RP, SP, TP<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Offshore Institutes with Local Campuses<\/strong><\/td>\nESSEC, INSEAD, SP Jain, DigiPen, etc.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Others<\/strong><\/td>\nITE, BCAA, MDIS, LASALLE, NAFA, PSB Academy, etc.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
