\n\t\tCFI Annual Symposium 2026: An Overview\n\t<\/h3>\n\tThe CFI Annual Symposium 2026, organised by the Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute (CFI) Singapore, is a flagship platform that brings together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and practitioners to advance dialogue and solutions in the coastal protection and flood resilience space.\nThe theme of this year’s Symposium is “Adapting Cities for Coastal and Flood Resilience<\/strong>“. It reflects the need for cities worldwide to prepare for the impacts of climate change, including rising sea levels, stronger storms and increased flooding. Through this theme, CFI aims to highlight practical strategies, showcase pioneering research, and foster collaboration among stakeholders committed to safeguarding coastal communities for the future.\u00a0\n

In 2026, the CFI Annual Symposium will be co-located with the 6th International Symposium of Water Disaster Mitigation and Water Environment Regulation (WDWE2026) and the 2026 Asia Tsunami Workshop, creating a unique convergence of global expertise across coastal engineering, water disaster mitigation, tsunami science, and environmental regulation. The co-location aims to foster interdisciplinary exchange, strengthen regional collaboration, and and create synergies across complementary research and policy communities.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

6th International Symposium of Water Disaster Mitigation and Water Environment Regulation (WDWE2026)<\/h5>\n\t\t\tThe International Symposium of Water Disaster Mitigation and Water Environment Regulation (WDWE)<\/strong> serves as a multidisciplinary platform for global researchers to share insights and discuss the latest scientific advancements in water disaster prevention and ecosystem-based adaptation. This is increasingly critical as climate change brings growing uncertainties and challenges to the resilience of megacities.\nThe symposium provides an opportunity for scientists and practitioners to present their latest discoveries, innovative strategies, and best practices for enhancing resilience to water disasters, water pollution, and ecosystem degradation, while supporting sustainable development in the world’s megacities.\nFind out more here<\/a>.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
2026 Asia Tsunami Workshop<\/h5>\n\t\t\t

The Asia Tsunami Workshop is a spin-off of the long-running South China Sea Tsunami Workshop (SCSTW) series.\u00a0Expanding beyond the South China Sea, the workshop brings together researchers from across Asia to share insights and advances in tsunami science and risk reduction.<\/p>\nThe workshop welcomes studies on tsunamis generated by earthquakes, landslides, volcanic activity, and atmospheric disturbances. Topics include tsunami generation, propagation, run-up, damage assessment, and disaster mitigation strategies such as hazard assessment, warning systems, coastal protection, evacuation planning, and community preparedness.
