Land Restoration Through Soil Accumulation<\/h1>\r\n<p>This project aims to develop a cost effective and eco-friendly method for coastal protection and recovery of land lost due to sea-level rise by elevating the beach profile through soil accumulation.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Research Goals<\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li data-start=\"1461\" data-end=\"1585\">Establish a method of using eco-cement and jute fabric to form coastal protection barriers.<\/li>\r\n<li data-start=\"1461\" data-end=\"1585\">Conduct a preliminary study to inform future living lab field tests and convert the solution into a viable construction method.<\/li>\r\n<li data-start=\"1461\" data-end=\"1585\">Evaluate design performance through model tests and calibrate\/verify design software using monitoring data.<\/li>\r\n<li data-start=\"1461\" data-end=\"1585\">Develop practical guidelines for design, construction, material selection, and specifications for real-world application.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>Why This Matters<\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li data-start=\"2590\" data-end=\"2762\">Soil-filled jute tubes\/bags act as barriers to prevent coastal erosion and accumulate sediments, helping restore land affected by
