Her discovery sheds light &#8211; literally! &#8211; on a long-standing scientific puzzle and has the potential to open up new technological possibilities in areas such medical diagnostics, optical data encryption.<\/p>\n<p>Prof Liu is a world-renowned researcher in the field of organic functional materials. She currently holds the post of Deputy President (Research and Technology) at NUS and Tan Chin Tuan Centennial Professor.<\/p>\n<p>Prof Teo Kie Leong, Dean, stated that CDE has benefited greatly from Prof Liu Bin\u2019s contributions as a leading faculty member in the College. \u201cA leader in every sense of the word, she inspires our young academics and students to stretch themselves to achieve new heights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProf Liu Bin was a remarkable catalyst as Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering.
