SGBC-BCA Sustainability Leadership Awards 2019 – Department of the Built Environment

The Department congratulates Dr Stephen Tay, a senior lecturer at the Department of Building, School of Design and Environment, for winning the Young Green Building Advocate Award Category under the SGBC-BCA Sustainability Leadership Awards 2019.

Jointly launched by Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC), the SGBC-BCA Sustainability Leadership Awards (SLA) aims to recognise outstanding industry practitioners and professionals for their consistent contribution and significant achievements in the development of a green and sustainable built environment.

Dr Tay is a working group member on Energy Resources by the Singapore Standardisation Programme, and is assisting with the Singapore Standard for Renewable Energy Certification. He is also active in outreach activities advocating the deployment of solar PV.

Congratulations, Professor Chandra Sekhar and Associate Professor Tham Kwok Wai, on the publication of their article in the prestigious Science Journal! They were part of a team of international scientists led by Professor Lidia Morawska, Queensland University of Technology, Australia, who published an article calling for mandating indoor air quality (IAQ) standards in public buildings.
