The Department congratulates Professor Wong Nyuk Hien, who received a research grant award from Building and Construction Authority, for his research project entitled, \u2018Study on Acceptable Reflectance Level of Building Facade Materials in Singapore\u2019.<\/p>\n

The project aims to improve the visual performance of building fa\u00e7ade in Singapore, with the following three main objectives:<\/p>\n

  1. To evaluate the acceptable daylight reflectance of building fa\u00e7ade to achieve visual comfort in the surrounding environment in Singapore<\/li>\n
  2. To identify critical factors that cause glare problem and potential Urban Heat Island (UHI) problem by parametric 3D modelling<\/li>\n
  3. To develop methodology and guidelines for building designers to evaluate and improve the visual performance of building fa\u00e7ade<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
