Dr Ang and Dr Chew, as Principal Investigators of the Thermal Floater Project, together with their team, achieved Runner-Up at the Grand Finals of both the MIT Climate &amp; Energy Prize and the London CleanTech Award held in April, following their earlier win at CDE Innovation Day.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Thermal Floater is an innovative floating renewable energy device that generates electricity by converting concentrated sunlight using temperature differences. Unlike conventional solar panels, it floats on water, eliminates land use, and delivers three times more power per unit area, especially performing well in hot climates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">These competitions are highly competitive, and the team was the only Singaporean group to reach the finals.
