{"id":14043,"date":"2022-08-30T00:00:20","date_gmt":"2022-08-29T16:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/escholars\/?post_type=nus-news&#038;p=14043"},"modified":"2022-12-23T12:00:07","modified_gmt":"2022-12-23T04:00:07","slug":"e-scholars-orientation-2022","status":"publish","type":"nus-news","link":"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/descholars\/news\/e-scholars-orientation-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"E-Scholars Orientation 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This year\u2019s E-Scholars orientation event marks the first time a full-scale, in-person orientation could be held since the programme was launched in 2019!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Exco organised a two-day orientation programme to welcome the incoming freshmen.<\/p>\n<p>The first evening was a mentor-mentee session, where freshmen got to meet and interact with their academic mentors over light refreshments. Mentorship is an important aspect of the E-scholars programme, and points such as the objectives and benefits of mentorship were also discussed during the session.<\/p>\n<p>The second day was the long-awaited \u201cPokemon quest\u201d! In groups, students took part in pokemon-themed station games at various locations around the university. The day ended with a pizza dinner at UTown.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, it was a meaningful and fulfilling event, and the freshmen got to develop bonds with each other as well as with their seniors and
