Talkeen is a range of interactive storybooks (iPad or Andriod Tablets) for children between 5 to 7 years old. The project aimed to assist speech and language development for children who are wearing hearing aid or cochlear implants. They need more direct teaching than normal hearing children because of the limited hearing range their hearing devices can provide. They missed out incidental learning through sound which made up 90% of their language development. Talkeen helps them and their parents by providing contents, guidance and motivation. The storybooks incorporate AVT methodology and tested voice gesture framework that motivates children to talk and listen at different stages of language learning.
