Breathe, a hands-free Smoke Evacuator that aids surgeons in removing smoke emitted during laser and electrosurgery. Breathe was developed through a close working relationship between medical staff and engineers. The product’s hands-free system allows nurses and surgeons to focus solely on the operation. Clear feedback is provided through an improved and intuitive interface. A streamlined cartridge system also allows easy maintenance in the operating theatre. Several functional prototypes were also made for concept testing and user testing was eventually done to gain valuable feedback from the nursing staff.
