Contemporary Eyewear in Sheet Metal
designed by: Kenneth Tan

An eyewear product designed using a single sheet of metal. The frames are made from stainless steel that features a hingeless design without any screws or welded joints. The challenge to the concept was to develop a design to reduce the number of folds and bends on the metal parts yet retaining the design aesthetics of the frame. A total of 16 bends was required to construct the frame to create the minimal aesthetics and engineered with extreme functionality and comfort.

With no screws used, the frame uses a simple fastening method to connect the metal frames to the temples.

Parts are produced on a single sheet of metal and crafted with simple tools.
