The Irrational Affection of Comfort Things

The mobile smartphone has become the ubiquitous comfort object. Its size and accessibility allows actually one to conveniently simulate a transitional space for psychological ease. By a subversive interaction positioned between the operating system and functional apps, the home screen that is quintessential and familiar becomes a simulated reality within, allowing one to control the interactive touch responses with digital pixels, liberating the true comforting touch and purpose of the ordinary home screen which is housed in the mobile phone.

Kallang Medallion

In harmony with the country’s obsessive pursuit for glory, wood hailing from Kallang Stadium benches progress into blatant objects of commendation — a band of medals. One can now relish and honour them in its entirety as each medal pays tribute to a specific phenomenon of the stadium.

In collaboration with FARM, Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore

Iron that hangs

In response to smaller living spaces and the spirit of modest luxury, an extension is designed into an electric iron that is reduced to its essential elements for hanging and storage in the wardrobe.

Designed with Raymond Hon and Syed Atif Husain

Human Sightseeing-Viewer

In a subversion of typical landscape viewers, a recreational surveillance viewer is designed for tourists to enjoy the human landscapes. It enables one to enjoy and collect thermal imaging, body scanning, and visual data augmentation of individuals, adding value to a tourist’s experience and memories.
