Creating Narratives is an interdisciplinary course which aims to explore the principles of communication in Design and Engineering. <\/p>\n
The purpose of the course is to make explicit to students how they can draw on visual and verbal resources to clearly articulate the valued knowledge in their disciplines to both specialist and non-specialist audiences in a succinct manner. <\/p>\n
Students will explore a range of narratives around multimodal artefacts such as posters, renderings, drawings, models and exhibits from these disciplines to become familiar with the ways to engage, inform, critique and persuade different audiences and communicate their designs effectively.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\nI would consider the knowledge acquired in the module to be a life-long one as it is well-suited for usage in other parts of my daily life.<\/h4>
The final assessment of the module gave us a realistic experience of what we might go through in the workforce in the near distant future, presenting posters in scientific forums or company networkings, etc.<\/h4>
I liked that the course taught us how to present well which would be useful in future when we go to work. I also got the opportunity to make a brochure and poster and applied them in a presentation. This would make me more prepared to answer questions even in interviews.<\/h4>
I believe this course to be incredibly useful in preparing students for the working world. Often, it is not sufficient to know your stuff, but to also communicate what you know well.<\/h4>
I particularly enjoyed the course for its unique approach to storytelling. It brought a tint of freshness to the learning experience, as the emphasis on narrative creation added a different dimension to storytelling techniques.<\/h4>
The course allows effective collaboration between students of different fields to come together to ideate and design something, encompasses the holistic nature of CDE common curriculum.<\/h4>
