Vincent works on information theory, signal processing, and machine learning. A pioneer of the study of second-order asymptotics in network information theory, he has also resolved certain conjectures in common information and non-interactive correlation distillation (together with Lei Yu). More recently, he has made progress in the study of online machine learning and multi-armed bandits. His work has appeared in leading journals such as the <em>IEEE Transactions on Information Theory<\/em>, <em>Communications in Mathematical Physics<\/em>, and the <em>Journal of Machine Learning Research<\/em>. He has also published extensively in top-tier machine learning conferences such as ICML, NeurIPS, and ICLR. He was recognized as a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Information Theory Society in 2018 and received the NUS Young Researcher Award in 2019.
