The ISSCC is a leading indicator of research and development in the field of advanced solid-state circuits in the world, and is widely known to be the &#8221; The Semiconductor Olympics&#8221; in integrated circuit design innovation both in academia and semiconductor industry.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17235\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17235\" style=\"width: 720px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17235 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/ece\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/03\/2023-ISSCC-best-paper-award_cut.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"789\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/ece\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/03\/2023-ISSCC-best-paper-award_cut.png 720w, https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/ece\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/03\/2023-ISSCC-best-paper-award_cut-274x300.png 274w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-17235\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Professor Massimo Alioto (middle) receiving the award<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Professor Massimo Alioto\u2019s Green IC group, from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, received the Takuo Sugano Award for Outstanding Far-East Paper at the ISSCC 2023. The group received the honour for the paper \u201cSide-Channel Attack Counteraction via Machine Learning-Targeted Power Compensation for Post- Silicon HW Security Patching\u201d. The group has made a breakthrough in hardware security technology with sponsorship on their national-level \u201cSOCure\u201d project from National Research Foundation and Cyber Security Agency of Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>The ISSCC Takuo Sugano Award was established to recognize outstanding achievements in the development of semiconductor technology. The paper title is \u201cBatDrone: A 9.83M-focal-points\/s 7.76\u00b5s-Latency Ultrasound Imaging System with On-Chip Per-Voxel RX Beamfocusing for 7m-Range Drone Applications.\u201d The paper makes ground-breaking discovery of adopting ultrasound for all-weather<em> high-frame rate<\/em> (&gt;24 frames-per-second) 3D depth sensing and imaging, targeted for drone navigation.<\/p>\n<p>The ISSCC2023 Demo Award is awarded to two top papers that was presented at ISSCC2022 as well as in Demo Session.
