The winning team is led by post-graduate student <strong>Wu Jibin<\/strong> supervised by <strong>Prof Li Haizhou<\/strong> from ECE Department.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">They received a certificate, as well as prize money of <strong>RMB 60,000.<\/strong>\u00a0The award recognises the latest technology breakthrough in the learning algorithm for biologically plausible spiking neural networks. The highlight of the research includes the successful neuromorphic implementation of several large-scale pattern recognition tasks, such as image classification, automatic speech recognition and speech separation.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-4170\" src=\" \/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2019\/11\/Wu-Jibin-HLT.jpg\" alt=\"Wu Jibin (hlt)\" width=\"600\" height=\"auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">More than 200 international teams participated in the competition held on the 19<sup>th<\/sup> and 20<sup>th<\/sup> October 2019 in Tsinghua University, China.
