However, the majority of existing DNA recorders possess low storage capacities and limited temporal-sequential recording capabilities. Moreover, current DNA recorders also lack simple, efficient, and reliable single-step methods for converting electronic data into DNA.<\/p>\r\n<p>In this project, an optogenetic controlled DNA recorder was developed. It uses CRISPR Cas1-Cas2 for a natural cellular DNA ticker-tape which allows for temporal, sequential recording with theoretically unlimited capacities.
