Research Fellow (Urban Modelling)

Job Description

Project Background: The "Comparative Study of Housing Typologies for Seniors" (CS-HTS) project investigates ways to adapt existing and future housing to support aging in place and enhance the quality of life (QoL) for older adults in urban context. Using a community science approach, the study aims to collaboratively develop, evaluate, and recommend integrated senior housing models for Singapore. The project incorporates both cross-sectional and longitudinal studies and brings together a multidisciplinary team of experts in architecture, urban design and planning, social sciences, public health, medicine, transportation, technology, and urban economics

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Fellow to contribute to overseeing the process and quality of the CS-HTS project. The Fellow will be under the overall supervision of the Co-Principle Investigator, Research Fellow and work closely with project collaborators.

Responsibilities

  • Microclimate Evaluation 
  • Quantitative data analysis 
  • Preparation of abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and reports.
  • Present research findings to diverse audiences, effectively communicating key insights and providing feedback to the research team.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience.
  • Strong background and expertise in urban modelling and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation.
  • Background in data science and statistical analysis highly preferred. 
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary research teams and collaborating across diverse fields.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Highly motivated, independent and able to work in a dynamic environment.
