The E-Scholars recently had the privilege of visiting Johnson Controls for an enriching session that offered valuable insights into smart buildings and building automation systems.
The visit began with an introduction from OpenBlue Innovation Center & Solution Development Leader of SEA – Faith Goh to the company, where students were briefed on the diverse industries Johnson Controls serves, as well as its role in developing and supporting systems and equipment with sustainability as a central focus.
Subsequently, Director of Digital Solutions & Technology Architecture – Ravi Warake shared insights on data platforms supporting buildings, fire detection, and security systems, emphasizing their critical role in ensuring comfortable, efficient, and safe operations across industries.
The E-Scholars also had the opportunity to hear from two NUS CDE alumni at Johnson Controls: Jun Jie Lee, Assistant Technical Account Manager (an E-Scholars alumnus), and Dionne Pok, Solutions Engineer. They spoke about their career journeys, their responsibilities at Johnson Controls, and their experiences transitioning from university to the workplace.
