| Dr. Yvonne graduated from the University of Western Sydney with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management before pursuing a master’s degree in Business IT at the University of Wales. She obtained her Engineering Doctorate while leading as Dyson Engineering Manager overlooking the Motors Design and Mechanical Validation Teams in Singapore and the Philippines.
She began her career in Hewlett Packard in 1995 as a Technical Specialist in Factory Automation and later moved to Spain, where she worked on the R&D on Designjet Test & Product development. She has also worked for STMicroelectronics, Technology Resource Group – Camstar, Venture Corporation, National University of Singapore (NUS) and Dyson in the field of systems analysis, design, engineering, innovation and technology. Over her years of work, she has held key engineering positions in Singapore, Malaysia, China, Philippines, Spain, United Kingdom and the US. In 2018, she was also involved in setting-up the Dyson-NTU Studio (Nanyang Technological University) in Singapore, which is Dyson’s first on-campus engineering studio in Asia. There, she takes on the role of a lecturer for the Product Development Challenge module while providing mentorship to undergraduates. During her spare time, Yvonne enjoys getting hands-on with technology, from assembling 3D printers to her most recent home project, installing gapless motorised blinds for her balcony. She is also an active mentor for many budding engineers. |
