“When I was deciding on a master’s, I considered how I could develop myself through it and in the process broaden my horizons. I did explore an MBA but after careful consideration, I chose the NUS MSc (Management of Technology and Innovation) [MSc (MOTI)] programme. I found MSc (MOTI) a better match to my work in the semiconductor industry,” says senior global manager Lee Ting Ying.<\/p>\n
On what she liked about the MSc (MOTI) programme taught at the College of Design and Engineering (CDE), Ting Ying says, “There were many group projects and presentations. I find such collaborative work very beneficial – I had to come up with pitches, which were quite challenging, but they added to my understanding. I also enjoyed the conducive learning environment – it encouraged us to exchange ideas, think critically, and be curious. I’ve grown professionally and personally.”<\/p>\n
Ting Ying recently attained her MSc (MOTI) qualification and has since moved up in her career. Where she previously held a technical role, she now drives technology development and plans for future capacity. She also develops business strategies and manages a global, diverse team made up of managers dealing with planning and products.<\/p>\n
