ABSTRACT\nThis presentation will provide information about\u00a0JOM<\/i>, discuss recent developments and directions, and answer audience questions.\u00a0Tyson\u00a0will reflect on his recent six years as co-EIC of\u00a0JOM<\/i>, providing insights into the strategies and opportunities for publishing therein.\u00a0 He will address the Journal’s surprising topical and methodological breadth and scope, areas and methods where more submissions are especially sought, etc.\u00a0 Also as a former Department Editor of\u00a0IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management<\/i>,\u00a0Tyson\u00a0will discuss some of the contrasting approaches of each journal.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
PROFILE OF SPEAKER\nProfessor\u00a0Tyson\u00a0Browning is an internationally recognized researcher, educator,\u00a0and\u00a0consultant. He is a full Professor of Operations Management in the\u00a0Neeley School of Business<\/a> where he conducts research on managing complex projects (integrating managerial and engineering perspectives) and teaches courses on project management, operations management, risk management, and process improvement in TCU’s highly rated MBA programme (e.g., The Economist<\/a>,\u00a0Princeton Review<\/a>). Tyson has trained\u00a0and\u00a0advised several organizations, often in industries such as aerospace concerned with developing complex systems using complex organizations\u00a0and\u00a0processes. He earned a B.S. in Engineering Physics from\u00a0Abilene Christian University<\/a>\u00a0before two Master’s degrees\u00a0and\u00a0a Ph.D. from the\u00a0Massachusetts Institute of Technology<\/a>.\u00a0Tyson’s research results have been published in journals such as IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Information Systems Research, Journal of Operations Management, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, MIT Sloan Management Review, Production & Operations Management, Project Management Journal, and Systems Engineering, among others. He is the co-author of the book\u00a0Design Structure Matrix Methods\u00a0and\u00a0Applications<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0was the co-Editor-in-Chief of the\u00a0Journal of Operations Management<\/a>\u00a0from 2018-2023.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
