Internships<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Internships are a key facet of our emphasis on learning by doing. Through them, you gain perspectives on real-world issues while working on real-life projects alongside engineering practitioners.<\/p>\n

Typically in Year 3, you would embark on a compulsory* industrial attachment (IA) of at least 20 weeks#<\/sup>\u00a0(with optional extension to 24 weeks for extra 2 MCs). During your IA, you would be able read up to 2 technical electives in the evenings to fulfil your\u00a0major requirement<\/a>, or other evening modules to count as\u00a0unrestricted elective modules (UEMs)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Internship positions will be offered for your selection through an\u00a0online internship portal<\/a>. You may also source for your own internship opportunities with companies that are not in the portal.<\/p>\n*IA is optional if you are a polytechnic graduate admitted directly to Year 2.
\n<\/em>IA is also optional if you are in a special programme (i.e. double-degree, concurrent degree) – the MCs for IA can be utilised as UEMs.<\/em>\n\u00a0<\/em>#<\/sup><\/em>If you are pursuing the second major in\u00a0Innovation and Design (iDP)<\/a>, a 12-week vacation internship programme (VIP) applies instead of the 20-week IA.
\n<\/em>If you matriculated in AY2017\/2018 or earlier, your compulsory IA would be 24 weeks in length.<\/em>\n
