Further cementing its position among the world\u2019s best, CDE has been named in the global top 10 for six subjects in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS WUR) by Subject 2025.<\/p>\n

In the ranking, released on 12 March 2025, CDE ranked in the global top five for three subjects: Civil and Structural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering. It also ranked in the global top 10 for Materials Science<\/strong>, Architecture\/Built Environment, as well as Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering.<\/p>\n

Professor Teo Kie Leong, Dean of CDE, said: \u201cThese latest rankings reflect CDE\u2019s enduring commitment to delivering world-class teaching and research. The College\u2019s multidisciplinary approach – bringing together expertise across design, architecture and engineering – enables us to tackle complex global challenges and drive impactful innovation. This recognition underscores the strength of our integrated approach, shaping future-ready graduates and advancing knowledge that benefits society.\u201d<\/p>\n

The QS WUR by Subject is an independent comparative analysis of the reputation and research output of more than 21,000 academic offerings across 55 subjects and five broad faculty areas. For the 2025 edition, 5,200 institutions from 148 locations were analysed with rankings published for 1,747 institutions.<\/p>\n

Across NUS, the university as a whole ranked in the top 10 worldwide for 22 subjects<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the rankings, Professor Aaron Thean, NUS Deputy President (Academic Affairs) and Provost, said the university\u2019s strong performance in STEM subjects \u201cunderscores the deep expertise and interdisciplinary approach that define NUS\u201d.<\/p>\n

Prof Thean added: \u201cThis achievement is the result of the dedication and hard work of our faculty, staff, students, and alumni. As we continue to push boundaries in research, innovation, and education, we remain committed to nurturing future-ready graduates and contributing meaningfully to Singapore and the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
