Assistant Professor Pieremanuele (Piero) Canepa from Materials Science and Engineering<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Assistant\u00a0Professor Pieremanuele (Piero) Canepa from\u00a0NUS Materials Science and Engineering<\/a>\u00a0has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, in recognition of his work in the field of Computational Materials Science.<\/p>\n

Asst. Prof. Canepa, leads the\u00a0Canepa Research Laboratory<\/a>\u00a0at NUS which leverages the power of supercomputers and advanced simulation algorithms to push the boundaries in the transformation and storage of clean energy.<\/p>\n

The models derived from his research team contribute to the rational design of new materials for clean energy technologies, such as electrode materials for rechargeable batteries.<\/p>\n

Established in 1848 and headquartered in London, the Royal Society of Chemistry is one of the world\u2019s oldest and most prestigious scientific societies.<\/p>\n

Asst. Prof. Canepa said: \u201cBecoming a Fellow of the Royal Society does not only represent a recognition of my research work in materials for energy storage and transformation; it is also an important demonstration that being an active part of the community also indirectly contributes to elevate NUS MSE as an international player in this discipline.\u201d<\/p>\n
