Through them, you gain perspectives on real-world issues while working on real-life projects alongside engineering practitioners.<\/p>\n<p>Typically in Year 3 Semester\u00a01 or Year\u00a03 Semester 2, you would embark on a compulsory* industrial attachment (IA) of at least 20 weeks<sup>#<\/sup> (with optional extension to 24 weeks for extra 2 Units). During your IA, you would be able read up to 2 evening coures to fulfil your elective requirements subjected to companies&#8217; approval.<\/p>\n<p>Internship positions will be offered for your selection through an <a href=\"https:\/\/nus-csm.symplicity.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online internship portal<\/a>. You may also source for your own internship opportunities with companies that are not in the portal.<\/p>\n<p><em>* IA is optional if you are a polytechnic graduate<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>IA is also optional if you are in a special programme (i.e. <a href=\"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/escholars\/\">Engineering Scholars<\/a>, double-degree, concurrent degree, global engineering) &#8211; the Units for IA can be utilised as UECs<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><em><sup>#<\/sup><\/em><em>\u00a0 If you are pursuing the second major in <a href=\"https:\/\/cde.nus.edu.sg\/edic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Innovation and Design (iDP)<\/a>, a 12-week vacation internship programme (VIP) applies instead of the 20-week IA<\/em><\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Internships Show me more&#8230;
