He\/She will serve as the point of contact for the research group on logistics, procurement, maintenance, laboratory house-keeping and management matters as well as to support the PI on safety compliance, and safety documentation for the group.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li><strong>Administrative and logistic support to PI<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Venue bookings &#8211; Lab meetings.<br \/>\n&#8211; Refreshment booking, visitor receiving.<br \/>\n&#8211; Coordinate with internal and external for HR, IT &amp; finance related matter and etc.<br \/>\n&#8211; Assist in organizing workshop, coordinate with participants for the PI group.<br \/>\n&#8211; Assist in organizing retreat, liaise with external party and finance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Procurement and Inventory management<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Chemical purchase, consumables purchase and equipment purchase. Activities include chemical inventory check, updating of LMMS and updates chemical inventory list.<br \/>\n&#8211; Including direct purchase, LMPRS chemical purchase, ITQ and ITT.<br \/>\n&#8211; nInvolves purchase from overseas and local. Track usage and inventory of essential consumables such as liquid nitrogen, research gases etc.<br \/>\n&#8211; Liaise with procurement and vendors to replenish stock.<br \/>\n&#8211; Sourcing &#8211; Activities include getting quotes from different suppliers, follow up with suppliers, purchase confirmation, create order form (before passing on to procurement colleague).<br \/>\n&#8211; Upon receipt of goods &#8211;\u00a0 goods receipt, goods labelling\/tagging, payment processing and expenditure excel updates. Special case such as filling in NDA (liaise with legal), advance payment, create vendor request, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Asset Sighting and asset management<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Activities include liaise with Finance, checking the asset, ensure asset tag is in place, asset sighting with Finance.<br \/>\n&#8211; Coordinate and track intra-lab equipment booking services.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Project management<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Activities include budget tracking, SAP tracking, expenditure, utilisation, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Point of Contact for safety related matters to staff and students<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Serve as safety lead<br \/>\n&#8211; Activities include liaise with safety coordinator, attend safety meetings, safety related training, disseminate safety newsletter, update safety meetings note, provide assistance\/guidance on risk assessment writing for new experiment.<br \/>\n&#8211; Implement safety requirements in the lab.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lab Safety Management \u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Activities include Risk Assessment write ups and revision, SOP write-ups and revision, Safety Data Sheets revision, track license validity, etc. Assist to keep track of N3 licences renewal dates of group members.<br \/>\n&#8211; Monitor the completion and refresher of safety training of the lab group members<br \/>\n&#8211; Documentation maintenance for the research group (inspection records, industrial hygiene monitoring records, incident reports, internal audits reports)<br \/>\n&#8211; Oversee the maintenance of PPE supplies (gloves,\u00a0 washing of lab coats, etc) and first aid boxes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Internal lab inspection<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Conduct internal lab inspection to ensure the safety practice is in place.<br \/>\n&#8211; Test and coordinate the maintenance of emergency eyewash and shower<\/li>\n<li><strong>Manage new lab members onboarding and members exit<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Activities for welcoming new comers include assist in safety related trainings, coordinate with core facility for vaccination, license application &amp; facility trainings, conduct S&amp;H checklist, familiarization of the lab, etc.<br \/>\n&#8211; Activities for assist in members exit include ensure waste disposal, inventory hand over, etc. Special case such as email extension is included<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maintaining equipment, optomechanical elements, assistance in developing new set-ups<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Cleaning optical elements, soldering, creating break-out boxes, simple electronics component, alignment and maintenance of lasers and spectrometers (e.g., changing turrets)<br \/>\n<em>(training can be provided for candidate with long-term commitment)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma or BSc in the relevant fields of Engineering or Physical Sciences.<\/li>\n<li>Good command of written and spoken English.<\/li>\n<li>Hard working and responsible<\/li>\n<li>Team player<\/li>\n<li>Prior working experience in a research laboratory an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information, or to submit your CV, please write in to :<strong> <a href=\"mailto:ifim-careers@nus.edu.sg\">ifim-careers@nus.edu.sg<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Research Assistant and Laboratory Safety Lead &#8211; Maciej Koperski Research Group To support the logistics and safety requirements of the research group.
