NUS Cities Lecture Series 11

Transforming Cities Through Data Governance

In most organizations, including public agencies, data is amongst the most important asset for enabling positive change. However, while organizations manage data, many don't formally govern its use resulting in missed opportunities and increased risks.

The talk will explore how, when done right, data can be unleashed to drive innovation and solve a wide range of challenges in our cities. If cities adopt some form of data governance, it will help them drive numerous initiatives where data can be a source of success and it will assist with ensuring that poor data management doesn't create issues such as privacy challenges.
