Established in 2017, The NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing (AM.NUS) is a leading 3D printing hub which leverages the National University of Singapore (NUS)’s world-class faculties, expertise and advanced capabilities in 3D printing technology. With well-equipped state-of-the-art facilities, including metal, ceramic, plastic, and electronic printers, AM.NUS has developed and applied ground-breaking 3D-printing technology to support product innovation in the industry, including biomedical and healthcare fields that will improve patient outcomes and change lives for the better. AM.NUS will continue to explore a whole new dimension in medicine, with state-of-art 3D printing technology for personalised patient treatments. Some of the Centre’s notable achievements include the national multi-agency effort in the development of 3D printed nasopharyngeal Covid-19 testing swabs and the development of a prosthesis for a great hornbill in Jurong Bird Park that was surviving from cancer.
AM.NUS is the only multi-disciplinary Additive Manufacturing (AM) centre in an Institute of Higher Learning in Singapore which comprises five Faculties (Medicine, Science, Engineering, Dentistry and Design & Environment). The Centre is supported both internally by NUS and externally by National Additive Manufacturing Cluster (NAMIC) and Singapore Economic Development Board.
