Emeritus Professorships and Honorary Fellowships Awarded Â
CDE faculty members were recognised for their achievements and contributions to the University and to the College of Design and Engineering (CDE) in a closed-door ceremony on Friday, 29 July 2022 which was live streamed out to College faculty and staff. Â
During the ceremony, recipients of the Emeritus Professorship and the Honorary Fellowship were honoured. The Emeritus Professor title is awarded to full professors on retirement in recognition of their sustained and strong contributions in teaching, research and/or service to the University and its community. The Honorary Fellowship recognises Associate Professors on retirement for their positive contributions to the University and its community at the college level.  Â
Professor Aaron Thean, Dean of CDE, handed out awards to the Professors and Associate Professors who come from different departments across the College. In his welcome address, Prof Thean reminded the audience that it is vital to recognise the efforts and contributions of the faculty members to the University and the community. He shared that the event was a highlight of his day as it gave him, and the College, the opportunity to celebrate success.Â
