The inaugural NUS College of Design and Engineering (CDE) Alumni Award Ceremony held on 16 November 2022 celebrated the achievements of 10 outstanding alumni.
The Distinguished Alumni Award instituted in 1989, this prestigious award conferred on CDE alumni who have distinguished themselves nationally or internationally by their excellent and sustained contributions and achievements in public and community service; entrepreneurship; or in a profession or scholarly field.
The Distinguished Alumni Award recipients are Mr Dalson Chung, Dr Uma Maheswaran Cheyyar Ramanathan and Mr Teo Swee Ann.
The Outstanding Young Alumni Award recognizes CDE alumni aged between 31 and 40 years old for their outstanding contributions and service that have brought honour to the design and engineering alumni community.
There are three recipients for this year’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award: Mr Tiong Jee Hui Jeffrey, Dr Tay Kah Ping Andy and Dr Aishwarya Bandla.
2022 sees the institution of three alumni awards, namely the Alumni Excellence Award, the Alumni Rising Star Award, and the Alumni Team Award.
The newly instituted Alumni Excellence Award is conferred on NUS College of Design and Engineering (CDE) alumni of age 41 to 55 who have distinguished themselves through Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technopreneurship, Public and Community Service, and Contribution to NUS or CDE.
The winner of the Alumni Excellence Award goes to Er Cong Zhengxia.
The Alumni Rising Star Award is a newly established award which recognizes CDE alumni aged 30 and below for their outstanding contributions and service that have brought honour to the design and engineering alumni community.
This year’s Alumni Rising Stars are Mr Soh Wei Zhi Andy, Mr Ong Kok Chung and Ms Poh Yun Ru.
