Coraline Imsand, a mechanical engineering student at ETH Zürich in Switzerland. Currently, She is pursuing her master’s thesis in the Urban Climate Design Lab at NUS, under the co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Jan Carmeliet (ETH) and Dr. Yuan Chao (NUS). Her research focuses on efficiently cooling down the Chinatown neighborhood in Singapore using trees. To achieve this, She is conducting a numerical study utilizing the UrbanMicroClimateFoam solver on OpenFOAM. This study aims to provide valuable insights on strategically planting trees to mitigate the Urban Heat Island effect.
