Wang Yuan is a PhD student in Urban Climate Design Lab, Department of Architecture. She received her Master’s Degree in Geography (urban and regional planning) from Peking University, and Bachelor’s Degree in National Geographical Monitoring from Wuhan University. Her previous study there led her to develop a robust knowledge of remote sensing, GIS, urban planning, landscape ecology, ecosystem service, and spatial statistical analysis.

Her research interests in urban study focus on resilience, sustainability, health and equity in the background of urbanization and climate change. She is looking to grow and expand in enhancing urban resilience and the well-being of urban inhabitants using a nature-based solution. She is also continuing to expand her skillset in GIS by pursuing research work in Google Earth Engine, Esri, Python, and R.
