The project aims to quantify the use of shadows within the project, making it not yet another byproduct of form, but one that dictates the form and the spaces within. The project hinges on the narratives of obscurity and ambiguity (commonly associated with shadows) to craft journeys for mental rehabilitation. It is where our identity is concealed where we are true to ourselves. The mental rehabilitation center allows one to enter and exit without being seen within the comforts of the shadows.
The concept of shadow has been explored in 3 ways within the project. [1] Shadow as effect. [2] Shadow as shade and boundary. [3] Shadow as a veil for obscurity and ambiguity. These three conditions have been explored and tested across varying scales within the project.
