Logistics play an important role in the planning of cultural activities. In the existing Yusof Ishak House, rooms for such activities have been allocated as part of the student-centric hub that it was meant to be. However, these rooms are not optimised in support of the very activities they were meant to facilitate. Rooms have been degraded to voids of utility, evolving more into the likeness of a teenage boy’s room as props and instruments clutter along every corner. As we scrutinize these spaces in retrospect once more, an attempt to comprehend the use of spaces in a different way is proposed: can objects be activators of spaces and program? The narrative of three objects and their instances- storage, sound and reflection are explored in this proposal, depicting the ways in which such objects give character to the spaces around.
